Overview

PocketLog is a personal expense tracking app built for simplicity and privacy. Your transactions, notes, and preferences are stored on your device. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not sell your data.

To understand how the app is used and to improve stability and features, PocketLog sends limited, non-identifying analytics events over the internet (see Analytics below). This is separate from your saved transaction content.

What we do not collect

PocketLog does not collect:

• No account creation or sign-up is required.
• No access to your bank accounts or third-party financial services.
• We do not upload your transaction descriptions, notes, or full transaction amounts for analytics.
• We do not use your entries for advertising profiling.

Analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect aggregated usage and technical information that helps us improve the experience—for example, which screens or flows are used, coarse success/error outcomes (such as export or import), and generic feature-related parameters (such as broad amount ranges, not exact values). These events do not include your free-text descriptions or notes.

Firebase may process device and app-instance identifiers and standard diagnostics according to Google’s policies. You can learn more about Firebase at Firebase privacy and security.

Data Storage

All transaction data, preferences (currency, language, theme), and settings are stored locally on your device using on-device storage (MMKV / AsyncStorage). That data does not leave your device except when you explicitly export or share it, or when limited analytics events are sent as described above.

Data Export & Import

PocketLog allows you to export your transactions as a JSON file and import data from a JSON file. These operations are initiated entirely by you and use your device's native share sheet. Your backup file is not sent to 2411Labs servers; it only goes where you choose (for example email or cloud storage). This is separate from routine analytics described above.

Permissions

PocketLog requests only the minimum permissions necessary:

• Internet – Used in production for Firebase Analytics and related services, and for optional features that require network access (for example, in-app updates or ads where applicable).
• Storage (Android 9 and below) – Used for exporting data to files on older Android versions.

Children's Privacy

PocketLog is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Analytics, as described above, is limited to product-improvement usage data and does not include your transaction notes or account-style profiles.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
